Please join with the Center for Professional Excellence in congratulating Gabriele Hamm, in Dental Hygiene department as she has received the New Technology in Classroom & Beyond Certification of Completion.
Gabriele Hamm is the coordinator for the Dental Assisting Certificate Program in the Dental Hygiene Department. She has been with the college for over 26 years. In her tenure at Hudson Valley Community College, she has also completed the CPE Teaching & Learning, Academic Advising and the Leadership Development Certificates.
Hamm is a lifelong learner both professionally and personally. She diligently serves the college and the community at large through volunteer work. She has developed and is the editor of two websites: “KiDz Corner” and “Capital District Dental Assisting Group.” These websites are open for public use which in turn acts as a resource for local schools and dental assisting alumni. Teachers utilize the “KiDz Corner” during the month of February, which is National Children’s Health Month. The site offers fun activities to encourage dental health at a young age.
Most recently, Hamm developed the SUNY-OER “College Success” Dental Assisting mini series that provides support to all Dental Assisting students including Mental Health, Learning Resource Center, Learning Styles and Strategies and much more.
She is a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), Certified Dental Practice Management Administrator (CDPMA) from the Dental Assisting National Board. She also is licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) by the New York State Education Department. She proudly sits as a current member of the New York State Board for Dentistry Office of Professions and is chairperson for the Dental Assisting Laws, Rules & Regulations.
